Conference on Coexistence and Tolerance at Wasit University, Iraq

Prof. Wasim Salman of PISAI participated on 18 November 2021 in the conference organised by Wasit University in Iraq entitled Coexistence and tolerance: the message of monotheistic religions to humanity. The event – sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities – highlighted Pope Francis’s visit to Iraq (5-8 March 2021) and his message to rebuild a society torn apart by war.

Professor Salman’s intervention (given in Arabic) focused on the “culture of encounter”, calling for a reform of religious discourse in favour of fraternity among members of different religious traditions.
