Professors

The teaching staff of PISAI is made up at present of 18 professors, permanent, associates and invited. As PISAI’s specificity requires, some have Arabic as their mother-tongue and some are Muslims. All are highly qualified specialists, either in literary classical Arabic or in the different fields of the Islamic sciences.

PISAI

The Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies, founded by the Society of Missionaries of Africa, is an ecclesiastical institute of higher education and has the right to award academic degrees by the authority of the Holy See. The Institute is at the service of the mission of the Church and contributes to the production of knowledge through scientific research, publications, academic activities and teaching. Its aim is to promote a culture of dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation between Christians and Muslims.
