PISAI’s participation in the 10th anniversary of Al Mowafaqa

Two members of the PISAI teaching staff, Prof. Diego Sarrió Cucarella and Prof. Mariangela Laviano, participated on 16 and 17 March 2023 in the colloquium organised by Al Mowafaqa Ecumenical Institute of Theology in Rabat on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, on the theme “Religious Minorities in Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan Africa. The challenge, the strength and the grace of being a minority”.

The Institute was created in 2012 on the initiative of the Catholic and Protestant Churches in Morocco, to meet their academic training needs. It comprises a university centre for theology and religious sciences and a cultural centre designed to promote intercultural encounters.
Pope Francis, during his visit to Morocco on 30 March 2019, called it a “prophetic sign” and a “praiseworthy initiative” that expresses the will of Christians in the North African country “to build bridges to manifest and serve human brotherhood”.
