Official closing of the Academic Year 2021-2022

On Tuesday, 21 June 2022, the official closing of the 2021-2022 Academic Year was celebrated. The morning began with the celebration of the Eucharist at the Church of San Francesco a Ripa, presided over by the Rev. Fr. Stanley Lubungo, Superior General of the Missionaries of Africa and Vice Grand Chancellor of the PISAI.

Afterwards, in the Maurice Borrmans Library, in the presence of the academic community, Prof. Valentino Cottini, former President of the PISAI, offered the Lectio magistralis entitled ‘47 Years of Islamochristiana. Continuity in discontinuity’, presenting the peculiarity of the scientific journal founded by Maurice Borrmans (1925-2017) in 1975. Prof. Cottini recalled the steps of the history of the journal he himself directed from issue 31 (2004) to issue 47 (2021). The President then recalled the intense academic activity carried out during the year, dwelling on a few events of particular relevance. He then gave the floor to the new Director of Studies, Prof. Martin Wullobayi, for the presentation of certificates and diplomas to the students. At the end of the ceremony everyone gathered in the hall of the Institute for a convivial lunch.

The day before, a group of PISAI lecturers and students visited the Abbey Complex of the Three Fountains, where they were also welcomed to the General Fraternity of the Little Sisters of Jesus.
