Islam and Mission Webinar

The SEDOS Spring Session 2021 took place on Friday, 19 March 2021, in the form of a webinar organized from its offices in Rome. Dedicated to “Islam and Mission”, the event included several former students of PISAI among the speakers: Fr. Markus Solo, SVD (Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue); Fr. John Mallare, CICM, and Fr. Thomas Hendrikus, CICM.
A Muslim scholar who followed some courses at PISAI during his sojourn of studies in Rome, Dr. Aan Rukmana (Paramadina Univertsity, Jakarta), also gave a presentation.
Prof. Diego Sarrió Cucarella, M.Afr., President of PISAI, delivered the closing remarks. Over 150 participants attended the online event.

The beginnings of SEDOS (Service of Documentation and Study on Global Mission) go back to the years of the Second Vatican Council, when nine missionary societies began to meet in an informal way in Rome to exchange information and opinions on mission in the Church. Today SEDOS gathers more than 80 member societies of sisters, brothers, and priests.
