Official closing of the Academic Year 2020-2021

On Friday, 18 June 2021, the official closing of the academic year 2020-2021 was celebrated. The morning began with the celebration of the Eucharist at the Church of San Francesco a Ripa, presided over by Rev. Fr Francis Barnes, Assistant General of the Missionaries of Africa. The homily was delivered by the Rev. Don Valentino Cottini, who took the opportunity to greet the academic community of the PISAI at the end of his long career as professor and president of the Institute.

Afterwards, in the Maurice Borrmans library, in the presence of students and professors, the President recalled the intense academic activity carried out during the year despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic and thanked everyone for respecting the protocols established to prevent contagion within the Institute. Afterwards, the Director of Studies, with the help of Rev. Fr. Stanley Lubungo, M.Afr., Vice Grand Chancellor of PISAI, handed over the certificates and diplomas to the students of the different years of studies.
The event concluded with the Lectio magistralis of Prof. Christopher Clohessy, entitled Theologies of Resistance. An intertextual confrontation.

At the end of the ceremony everyone gathered in the nearby courtyard of the “Teresa Spinelli” School for a convivial lunch, which brought together the students and their guests, the professors and the staff of the PISAI.
