The PISAI is pleased to announce the appearance of the latest publication of Archbishop Luigi Bressan entitled Sorpresi dall’Annunciazione. Cristiani e Musulmani (Ancora, Milan 2020). This work seeks to illustrate, through texts and images, how the unexpected event of the Annunciation has been expressed in the Gospels and in the Qu’ran, by authors and artists from the East and from the West, Christians and Muslims, over the course of two thousand years.
Mgr Bressan was born in Sarche, in the province of Trento, on 9 February 1940 and was ordained a priest in Trento on 28 June 1964. Elected titular archbishop of Severiana and appointed Pro Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan on 3 April 1989, since July 1993 he has been Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia and Apostolic Delegate to Laos, Malaysia, Brunei and Myanmar. On 25 March 1999 he was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Trent. Archbishop Emeritus of Trent since 3 April 2016, Mgr. Bressan is the author of nine books and about forty articles.
