Delegation from Najaf visits PISAI

On Thursday 19th September, PISAI hosted a visiting delegation of Iraqi Shîʻî scholars from Najaf. The delegation was headed by His Excellency Ayâtullâh Sayyid Riyadh al-Hakîm, son of Grand Ayâtullâh Sayyid Muhammad Saʻîd al-Hakîm. Riyadh al-Hakîm is Rector of the Kalima Center for Dialogue and Co-operation in Najaf, an Institute that aims at introducing the cultural heritage and human insights of the Ahl al-Bayt as well as building bridges of communication between societies and religions. The delegation, which included members of staff of the Embassy of Iraq to the Holy See, it met with the President, Diego Sarrió Cucarella, and some of the academic staff of PISAI for a short conversation about mutual aims and interreligious dialogue. The hope was expressed that this would be the start of a very particular co-operation between PISAI and Najaf.
