Jason Welle at the University of Cyprus

Jason Welle, O.F.M., Dean of Studies at PISAI, recently gave a presentation at the University of Cyprus on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the visit of St. Francis of Assisi to Cyprus and the Middle East. His paper, entitled, “Eight Centuries after Damietta: From the Encounter between St. Francis and the Sultan to Pope Francis and Human Fraternity,” was given on May 10th as part of a multi-day celebration involving concerts, academic presentations, and an event at the Presidential Palace with government representatives, the diplomatic corps, and local faith leaders.
