Conference in Cambridge 'Shiism and Minorities'

On Tuesday 5th February, Prof. Christopher Clohessy attended a conference entitled ‘Shiism and Minorities’, hosted by the University of Cambridge and the Hikma Foundation. The conference was chaired by Dr Sayed Ammar Nakhshawani, and speakers included Dr Esther-Miriam Wagner Director of Research at the Woolf Institute in Cambridge who addressed the topic of Jews and Christians in Fatimid Shii Thought, and Sheikh Nuru Mohammad who spoke about Shiism and Ecumenism in West Africa. Prof. Clohessy addressed the conference on the mother of Jesus in Catholicism and the Mother of al-Husayn in Shi’i Islam.
