Two professors from PISAI, Francesco Zannini and Diego Sarrió Cucarella, participated as panel chairs in a seminar entitled Women, Faith and Culture held on 14 November 2018 at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The seminar was organised by the International Foundation for Interreligious and Intercultural Education (IFIIE) in cooperation with the Istituto Affari Internazionali. After the opening remarks by Enzo Moavero Milanesi, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Callista L. Gingrich, US Ambassador to the Holy See, and May Makhzoumi, President of the Makhzoumi Foundation (Lebanon), the program was divided into 5 panels with the themes: Contemporary Islamic “Exegesis” Pertaining to the Status of Women; The Woman in Contemporary Society from the Perspective of Catholic Philosophy and Theology; The Woman in Jewish Thought and Lifestyle: Orthodox, Conservative and Reformed Perspectives; Religions and the Rights of Women; International Policies and the Rights of Women. The IFIIE came into being in 2005 through the efforts of Adalberta Mazzini Bernardini and her husband Armando Bernardini, both alumni and good friends of PISAI, with the aim of promoting academic research and education in the field of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
