2019 Lectures: Vasco Fronzoni

The cycle of PISAI’s 2019 Lectures begins on Thursday 17 January at 17h00 with Professor Vasco Fronzoni, on the theme ‘Sexuality in Islam among preachers and contrasting gender violence. Focus on Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Morocco’.
Vasco Fronzoni is Professor of Islamic Law and Islamic Countries in the Department of Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean at the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’.
He obtained a degree in Law in 1995 from the University of Naples Federico II and in 2005 a degree in Languages, History and Culture of the Mediterranean and Islamic countries at the Faculty of Arabic, Islamic and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Studies of Naples ‘L’Orientale’, with a thesis in Islamic Law and Islamic Countries. He obtained a PhD in “Studies on the Near East and Maghreb, Cultural Specificity and International Relations” at the University of Naples L’Orientale. He is a member of the Union Européenne des Arabisants et Islamisants (UEAI) as well as of the European Academy of Religion (EuARe).
