During the summer break, Prof. Christopher Clohessy took part in a number of academic and interreligious programs. In July, he gave two online conferences: the first, about Abū al-Faḍl al-ʿAbbās, with the Lanterns of Light Shīʿī organization based in London, and the second, concerning al-Ḥusayn, as part of the Imām Ḥusayn Conference 2024, Brisbane. Also in July, Prof. Clohessy delivered an address for the 7th night of Muḥarram, in the Shīʿī Husaini Islamic Centre in Peterborough, outside London.
August saw two further online conferences: the first, about Abū al-Faḍl al-ʿAbbās, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the second, entitled ‘Suffering and Sacrifice for others. A Muslim-Christian perspective’, with the Ahlul-Bayt Foundation of South Africa, in Cape Town.
On 18th September Prof. Clohessy delivered an online lecture to students and faculty of the al-Mustafa University in Iran. The theme of the lecture and the conference was on the state of studies around the life and spirituality of Fāṭima daughter of Muḥammad.
