On the morning of Wednesday 8 June 2022, PISAI welcomed the participants of the ‘Journées d’Arras’. This is an ecumenical group of people, coming this year from 16 European countries, particularly interested in Islamic-Christian relations and the situation of Muslims in Europe. Since 1980, the group has met once a year in different European cities. The meeting in Rome was planned back in 2020 and had been postponed because of the pandemic.
The reception was organised by the Secretary General of the Institute, Fr Francesco Baronchelli, at the Maurice Borrmans library. Prof. Christopher Clohessy gave a presentation of PISAI and its activities, answering numerous questions from the group members. Prof. Stefano Allievi, from Università degli Studi di Padova, then gave an interesting lecture on ‘Human Mobility and Religious Pluralism. Transformations in the European Public Space’. The participants, not yet familiar with PISAI, were able to appreciate its teaching and research methods with satisfaction.
