On 23 February 2021, Professor Jason Welle, OFM, the Director of Studies of PISAI, gave a lecture online entitled “Historical Antecedents for the Document on Human Fraternity: The Encounter between St. Francis and Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil (1219 AD)”.
Welle’s talk was part of the “Week of Human Fraternity” organized by the Institute for Interreligious Dialogue and Islamic Studies (IRDIS) of Tangaza University College in Nairobi. The program also featured presentations by two former students of PISAI, Father Raphael Deillon, M.Afr., who spoke on the relevance of Fratelli Tutti for interreligious dialogue, and Father Christopher Roucou (Institute Catholique de la Méditerranée, Marseille), who presented the life and spirituality of Charles de Foucauld, “the Universal Brother”.
