Best wishes to the new Doctor John Mallare

Wednesday, 16 September 2020, Fr. John P. Mallare, of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a student at PISAI, successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled “The Beginnings of Classical Qur’ānic Commentary: a Study of Tafsīr Yaḥyā b. Sallām based on Sūras 16-18”, in the Maurice Borrmans Library.
The jury was composed of Prof. Adnane Mokrani, PISAI, advisor of the thesis, and Prof. Walid Saleh, University of Toronto, and Prof. Christopher Clohessy, PISAI. Prof. Diego Sarrió Cucarella, M.Afr, President of PISAI, presided at the defense, which was held in English.
