The PISAI is pleased to announce the publication of the book Islam et appartenances, edited by Michel Younès, Anna Hager, Laurent Basanese S.J. and Diego Sarrió Cucarella, M.Afr. (L'Harmattan, Paris 2020).
This book collects the proceedings of the Second International Congress of PLURIEL, held in Rome from 26 to 28 June 2018. The different contributions address the crucial issue of “Islam and belonging” from three points of view: theology, the context of the Middle East and the context of Europe. The concept of belonging, thanks to the double advantage of being less rigid than the category of identity and more articulated than the phenomenon of recomposition characteristic of modernity, opens up to many of our fields of reflection, and in particular the sociological, political and theological.
PLURIEL, Plateforme Universitaire de Recherche sur l’islam en Europe et au Liban, was initiated by the Federation of Catholic Universities of Europe (FUCE) in coordination with the Catholic University of Lyon with the aim of fostering relations between researchers in the field of research on Islam and Islamic-Christian dialogue. PISAI has been a member of PLURIEL since its establishment in 2015.
