Dr. John Borelli, invited professor at PISAI, recently concluded an online course entitled “Dialogue with Islam in the Magisterium of the Church”.
The course, which ran from 7 – 17 December 2020, focused particularly on the Second Vatican Council and subsequent developments. Dr. Borelli’s course was a first for PISAI as a course run entirely online from beginning to end. Alongside Dr. Borelli, Cardinal Michael L. Fitzgerald, M.Afr. served as a guest lecturer.
Borelli, a historian of religions and theologian, is Special Assistant for Catholic Identity and Dialogue to the President of Georgetown University. His books include the edited volume A Common Word and the Future of Christian-Muslim Relations (Washington DC 2009) and, with Michael L. Fitzgerald, Interfaith Dialogue: A Catholic View (London-Maryknoll NJ 2006).
