Jason Welle at the European Academy of Religion

Jason Welle, O.F.M., Dean of Studies at PISAI, gave a presentation on March 7 at the European Academy of Religion (EuARe) Annual Conference in Bologna (5-8 March). His paper, entitled, "Remembering Francis and the Sultan: Approaches Old and New" headed a panel dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the encounter between Francis of Assisi and al-Malik al-Kamil during the Fifth Crusade. The European Academy of Religion is a research initiative which offers an exchange program to the variety of academic institutions, journals, publishers, media and scholars in Europe. Over 790 speakers contributed to the working sessions of this year's conference.
