Father Diego Sarrió Cucarella, M.Afr., Rector of PISAI, attended a conference entitled Chrześcijanie w Świecie Islamu. Dialog – Posłannictwo – Świadectwo (“Christians in the World of Islam: Dialogue, Mission, Testimony”), held at the Catholic University of John Paul II in Lublin (Poland), from 25-26 January 2019. The conference was organized by the Missionaries of Africa and the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology of the same University. Father Diego’s lecture was entitled ‘The Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies. Mission, Heritage and Influence on Christian-Muslim Dialogue”. Among the other speakers were Mons. Michael Fitzgerald, M.Afr., Former President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, and Father Anselme Tarpaga, M.Afr., alumnus of PISAI. On Thursday 24th, in Warsaw, Mgr. Michael Fitzgerald and Father Diego Sarrió Cucarella met a group of professors and students of the Institute of Theology of the “Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński” University. These events represent an important chance to establish academic relations between the two universities and PISAI, relations that we hope will continue for longtime.
