Diego Sarrió Cucarella, MAfr, Dean of Studies of PISAI, delivered a paper entitled “Islam as a ‘disturbing’ factor in the Christian view of salvation history” at an international conference organized by the Newman Institute in Uppsala, 6–8 October 2017. The conference, entitled “Theology of Religions: Roman Catholic Perspectives”, included systematic and fundamental theologians, as well as specialists in non-Christian religious traditions. The keynote lecture was delivered by Archbishop Joseph Augustine Di Noia, OP (Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith). Founded in 2001, the Newman Institute is a small Jesuit university college located in the heart of Uppsala, Sweden’s oldest university town.
