Friday 14 June saw the closing of the Academic Year 2018-2019. Students, professors and academic authorities celebrated the end of a year of intense study. At 9am the traditional ceremonial handing out of diplomas began with a short address by the Rector, prof. Diego Sarrió Cucarella, who welcomed those present recalling the intense academic activity of the year, brilliantly crowned by the successful exams and license thesis of the students. The Director of Studies, prof. Jason Welle, consigned to each student the pertinent diploma or certificate, announcing the opening of the new academic year, 2019-2020, on 7th October 2017, preceded by three days of orientation. At 10.00 am the Lectio Magistralis by prof. Felix Körner, of the Pontifical Gregorian University, entitled “Pope Francis and Grand Imam Al-Tayyeb. Discussing their Document on Human Fraternity”. After the closing ceremony, the students and professors gathered in the suggestive chapel of the institute for the solemn Mass, celebrated by Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Vicar of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome. The closing ceremonies ended with a convivial lunch, shared by the students and some of their guests, the professors, the academic authorities and the staff of PISAI.
