Thursday 9th June saw the closing of the 2015-2016 Academic Year. Students and professors celebrated the end of a year of intense study with a shared supper in the atrium and courtyard of the Institute. On Friday 10th at 10h00 the traditional ceremonial handing out of diplomas began with a short intervention by Fr Paul Hannon MAfr, who is leaving his teaching position at PISAI and returning to missionary work in the Sudan. The gathering was also addressed by professor emeritus of PISAI, Fr Maurice Borrmans MAfr, who greeted and encouraged the students who were present. Officiating at the solemn Mass in the Institute’s chapel was Mons. Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, an ex-student of PISAI, who also served the Institute as Dean of Studies and Rector, before being appointed as Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. He was recently nominated as bishop by Pope Francis.
The 2016-2017 academic year, which promises to be full of events, including the arrival of some new professors, will begin on 3rd October 2016.
