The first issue of ETUDES ARABES was published in 1962. These ETUDES were initially dossiers of about 30 pages, three monthly publications, presenting the French translation of some Arabic texts for those former students who wished to continue their practice of Arabic and Islamics. After some time, beginning with issue n° 8, the bulletin became a periodical presenting texts and notes about modern Arabic authors. In 1981 the periodical, as six-monthly monographic dossier, became an academic support for the teaching of Islamics. Since 1996 ETUDES ARABES appears on a yearly basis, presenting Arabic texts and their translation, in a monographic form.
