The Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies aims at offering its students an objective knowledge of the Arab-Muslim culture and religion, through a direct observation and study of the Arabic language and Muslim sources. Since more than 50 years the PISAI is engaged in teaching and preparing for interreligious dialogue, making a serious contribution to the Church’s commitment to improving the relationships between Christians and Muslims, both cultural and interreligious. Till this day, a qualified and objective dialogue remains the primary goal of the PISAI.

• The PISAI is always committed to give its full support to the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCDI), partecipating in meetings and forums between Catholics and Muslims
• Professors and collaborators of the PISAI usually meet with academic and institutional personalities, diplomats accredited to the Holy See; these meetings are a unique chance to share opinions, ideas and enriching cultural exchanges.
• The PISAI publishes different specialized periodicals in the field of interreligious dialogue
