Journées Romaines
The Journées Romaines were an important event traditionally organized by PISAI between 1956 and 1999, intended to be an occasion for meeting and mutual exchange with Christians already engaged in the field of interreligious dialogue with Muslims, some of whom took part in the event. This format, expanded over the years, had initially the purpose of letting the participants share their experiences and coordinate their initiatives through discussions about a specific topic. After the Vatican Council II the event brought together more than 100 participants compared with the 30 or so experts of the early years. The value of this initiative, the documentation and Acts of which are preserved in the Library of PISAI, is to have rendered the Christian public opinion aware of, and sensitive about, the need for dialogue with Muslims.
At present PISAI intends to restart this kind of meeting with the Journées Romaines 2011.
