Islamics
The 3rd year programme of Islamics deepens certain fundamental aspects of Islamic Sciences, through the study of chosen extracts of texts in the original language. All lectures are conducted in Arabic and with the active participation of the students who prepare some texts to discuss during the lectures. Each student, during the academic year, has to prepare a dissertation focused on a translation from Arabic (15/20 pages of Arabic text), carried out in due scientific form (glossary, notes, commentaries, index). The dissertation is not essentially a piece of original research, but rather an exercise in methodology, to demonstrate that the candidate for the License is capable of intelligent research on a subject of interest in the fields of Islamics and the Arabic Language. The defense of the dissertation will be conducted in the presence of a chosen director and a second reader.
