Library
The Library of PISAI is the privileged instrument of teaching and for research. Over the years it has been enriched by many works and periodicals concerning the Arabic and Islamic culture. This corresponds with the Institute’s approach to the sources in the original language, without neglecting some important orientalist works and texts specialized in interreligious dialogue. At present the Library owns more than 37000 volumes, one third of which are in Arabic, 450 periodicals, 250 rare or no longer published editions, 60 manuscripts, in various languages. A very important section is dedicated to the Koranic studies with many editions of the Koran, the most important classic and modern Koranic commentaries, the classic collections of Hadith. Because of its specialization the Library of PISAI is visited by students, professors and researchers coming from many other centres and universities.
